    Beautiful Beach

    Pantai Sumurtiga or Sumurtiga beach is one of the best beaches on Sabang island. This white sand beach is more than 2 kilometres long and ideal for jogging, walks or just to enjoy the beach and sea. The beach in front of the resort is a recognised international area where you are welcome to use your bikinis and western style swim wear. Drinks can also be enjoyed on the beach. If you venture outside this area, you are encouraged to “cover up” with shorts and t-shirts.

    Free WiFi

    If you find the need to get in touch with the real world, we provide FREE WIFI throughout the resort. It is password protected. We have 4 routers providing signal to the different areas of the resort.

    Check your hand phone to see which signal is available in the area of your rooms and then add the correct password to gain access to that router. Please ask our staff for the different passwords. Best reception is around the main building. 

    Health Massages

    Traditional massages are available and provided in the privacy of your own bungalow. Due to the Syariah Law, males massage males and females for females. Locally manufactured virgin coconut oil is used in our massages.

    Guest Library

    We are proud of our very active library / book exchange. Books are available in a range of languages. We also have a range of travel guides available. 

    This is a special facility for the book worms among us who prefer to relax and read the time away in the relaxation area of the reception building, hammocks on the bungalow balconies or on the beach deck chairs.

    Since the main feature of our resort revolves around the beach we have created a range of facilities to optimise your beach time.

    Beach towels available on request.

    Deck chairs to use on the Beach.

    Rubber carpets to protect your towel and other belongings if you want to lie down on the beach.

    Snorkelling equipment and life vests available for rent.

    Food and drinks to order from our ala carte beach restaurant.

    Shower facilities to wash off the sand before you retire to your bungalow.

    Western style toilet facilities / change area.

    Shaded chairs and tables to enjoy your food and drinks.

    On Fridays we encourage our guests not to go swimming between 1230 and 1330. During this time it is the main Muslim Prayer time of the week when all the men go to the Mosque. We do this mainly as a show of respect to the local Muslim community. This is the only exception for the whole week.

    Water Pontoon

    The snorkelling right in front of the resort is excellent. For your convenience we have provided a pontoon located about 30 meters from the beach. The pontoon is great for a rest whilst snorkelling but can also be used for sun bathing and relaxing.

    We have also provided a rope between the beach and the pontoon so that the less experienced swimmer can also enjoy snorkelling while being supported by the rope. Life jackets are always recommended for the less experienced swimmers and kids. These are available for rent at the resort.

    Arranged Activities

    Scuba Diving

    Regarding diving, we work with either Lumba Lumba or Monster Divers to provide in the diving needs of our guests. Both in Iboh (there are no reputable diving operations on Sumurtiga side of the island). 

    Please look at either https://monsterdiving.com or  https://lumbalumba.com for detail of their services and fees. You are welcome to talk to them direct. Check with these diving operators for pick-up and transport to their operations.

    Various Excursions

    We assist our guests by arranging a variety of excursions to KmZero, other beaches, waterfall, volcano, hot springs, WWII Japanese bunker, tour of Sabang historical places / buildings, walking trails, bird watching and other tourist sights around the island as detailed in the “Places to see around the island” section.

    You can do this either by rented motorbikes, rented taxis or even locally owned beyaks (motorbike with side car that can seat up to 4 guests).

    All you have to do is select the sights you want to visit and we will arrange the transport of your choice. The driver of the vehicles normally also serve as guide during these excursions.

    Beach Snorkeling

    Sabang Island is renowned for its unspoilt natural beauty and especially its diversity of “underwater” sea life. The snorkelling right in front of the resort and along the Sumurtiga beach is some of the best on the island. The variety of fish is excellent and a number of smaller coral gardens are within swimming distance of the resort. You will be able to spot our local turtles, rays, moray eels and a large variety of rare smaller sea creatures. Our pontoon, rope to the pontoon and rental snorkelling equipment and life jackets will ensure that you enjoy this special feature of our resort.

    Snorkelling trips: We can arrange a full day snorkelling trip for you to 5 different snorkelling spots around the island including Kla Island, underwater volcano, Gapang beach, Rubiah Island, etc. Rp1,500,000 for the boat shared by the number of guests on the boat with a maximum of 5 guests, including an English-speaking guide, equipment, and transport to the boat. Depart 06:45 and return around 15:00.

    – Start 06.20 and finish 14.30. 

    – Guests must depart from Freddies at 5.30.
